Austin is not what you might imagine Texas to be. One of the nations' fastest growing cities, Austin is as dynamic as its population of about 710,000. Now the 16th largest U.S. city, Austin's high-tech industry, state government and universities attract many new residents each year.

The population growth the city has experienced since the late 1990s has resulted in explosive development and re-gentrification in the city's downtown and East Austin areas. Both areas are home to many new loft developments, and provide lifestyles that are unique to Austin.

Austin is known for its casual lifestyle and array of live music attractions. This "Live Music Capital of the World" is home to the SXSW (South-by-Southwest) and Austin City Limits music festivals. MSN named Austin the "Greenest City in America" and it's ranked one of the top 10 places to live if you’re a dog.

Money Magazine voted Austin #2 "Best Big City" in 2006. Perched on the edge of the Texas Hill Country, the city affords access to a plentitude of green hills, lakes, rivers, parks and other natural attractions. It is also home to several excellent universities.
